Care/Maintenance
After steaming remove the lid to release steam and let the interior dry.
Avoid cleaning products as they can damage wood over time.
Coat the box with your favorite cutting board oil if desired. This is not necessary but can help extend the life of the wood and bring out it's natural beauty.
We have sanded the seat buttery smooth. Any rough patches that appear over time from normal use can be sanded smooth again with fine grit sand paper.

How big is the Sunshine Stool?
11x11x11 inches. 5.5 inch center hole. Using a lower seat helps your pelvic bowl to open naturally. Short stools puts your body in a comfortable squat position to help steam access all areas.
What is the weight limit?
Safety is our number one priority. The Sunshine Stool has a 250 pound weight limit. The Sunshine Stool is heirloom quality design, made from long lasting Hickory hardwood and will last you for many, many years to come.
Will I lose steam from the open sides?
Nope! Heat, and steam, rises. Unless it is windy or drafty in your room steam will not bend sideways to exit the sides. It will rise through the center hole, just where you want it.
What kind of pot should I use with this stool?
Choose a pot about the size of the center hole in the stool. We love using a mini crock pot! You should be able to feel steam when you place your hand over the hole. Test the temperature with your hand before sitting down.
Is the Sunshine Stool non-toxic?
Yes! We NEVER use glue in our construction. The Sunshine Stool is made from solid wood, rather than a “glue up” of multiple pieces of wood.
We do not apply any varnish, coatings, sealants, or waxes. Our stool is made from wood with steel screws and bolts. That’s all.
Because we send our stools out with ZERO coatings, we have a very specific process to sand the seats buttery soft. To preserve the health of your stool over many years to come, we recommend finding a cutting board oil that contains ingredients you are comfortable with and applying a coat of oil once a year or so. This will help prevent the wood from drying out, which happens naturally with uncoated wood over time.
Can the legs be removed after each use?
Yes! The Sunshine stool was designed to be discreet and portable. Simply unscrew the legs to pack your stool away between uses. Or pick up one of our Uterus Universe tote bags and take your steam stool with you! (Who doesn’t love an outdoor steam now and then? Just us?)
To assemble your stool, gently screw the legs into the bottom of the seat. Stop when you feel resistance. Do not over tighten.
When will my order ship?
Our stools, cushions, and herbs are handmade in Austin, TX! We do our best to keep up with demand, but there is often a waiting list for our stools. Please see below for the current turn around times for each product.
Stools - 3-4 weeks
Cushions - 1-2 weeks
Herbs - Typically ship within 1-2 days. Custom herb blends may take up to 2 weeks.
How do I track my order?
As soon as your order ships you will receive an email with your tracking information. If you haven’t yet received a shipping confirmation and want to check the status of your order, please email help@sunshineyonisteam.com. Include your name and your order number in your message.
